Packing Up!

Cattlemen's Western Art Show
The truck is almost packed.  I always take more than I need but I always say, it is good to have 'OPTIONS".  I am looking forward to my annual visit to Paso Robles and the week-end of fun at the Cattlemen's Western Art Show.   The week-end also includes a visit with a local rancher in the area to take photos of his beautiful horses.  Paintings will follow!

Palomino Girl

Palomino Girl-6x6-inches
Have you ever met someone and the first thing, you thought was, this is a quality person, someone worth getting to know?  Well, the little lady in this painting is one of those people.  She is multi talented, wild and full of common sense beyond her years.  She is my good friend, Sarah and I will always treasure her.  You can see Sarah in another painting I did, called, "The Stocker".

Sara is also a horse woman and has adopted a Mustang and is in the process of training the little mare.  I hope to be painting her mare in the future and sharing the paintings with you.

Cattlemen's Western Art Show

March 26-28th/2010 is the Cattlemen's Western Art Show & Sale in Paso Robles, California.  If you get to the show make sure you stop and say, hello.  It is always a good show with a wonderful group of western artists.  I plan to show, for the first time, my painting, "Bison Bull".  It will be fun to meet the western art patrons and meet up with old friends.

Nevada

Nevada-6x8-inches

The wild horses are one of the last icons of the wild west.  I hope there will always be wild horses out in the open range.  To see them reminds me of times past.

Cisco Kid

"Cisco Kid"-12x12-inches

This painting, "Cisco Kid",  is #3 of a series of horses with shadows.  The other two paintings are "The Lone Ranger" and "Lonesome Dove".  The horse in this painting is also one of my herd, Hopi.  She is the little wild paint of the group.  We brought Hopi to our farm when she was only 7 months old.  She had been roaming free on a 300 acre farm with a herd of horses. Hopi was accepted by our head mare, Angel, and to this day they are seen side by side in the pasture.
